How do I know if it's my intuition?

When I first got initiated as a medium and intuitive healer 24 years ago, my biggest fear was the guidance I was receiving was not my intuition but my imagination, so I began experimenting with different ways to test it. Over time, I got multiple validations to assure me that the messages I got were spot on.

If you're learning to tap into your intuition, here are 7 ways you can hone in on this skill and avoid confusion:

  1. Create a strong foundation: The only time I struggle with getting clear intuitive messages is when my mind is cluttered. So before you tap into your intuition, make sure you have done some mindfulness exercises to center yourself. At the very least, take a few deep breaths before you test it.

  2. Baby steps: Start with simple, small decisions or questions to test your intuition. For example, what should I wear today? Who will I see today?

  3. Go with your first instinct: Our intuition is always available for us, so the first answer or suggestion you receive will likely be the right one. Confusion only sets in when you overthink it.

  4. Practice: Intuition like any other skill, is a muscle that needs to be strengthened. Keep practicing; with time, you will uncover patterns and understand what helps you feel more connected.

  5. Trust the process: Your intuition will never steer you wrong. And it will never hurt you or anyone else.

  6. Ask for confirmation: Use Oracle cards or ask other Intuitives to confirm if they are receiving the same message.

  7. Have fun with it: Intuition can be so much fun. Here are some ways you can enjoy this journey:

    1. Use your non-dominant hand to write an answer to a problem you are facing. Start with a simple yes or no question.

    2. Stand up in a safe place, close your eyes, ask a question, and let your body fall forward or lean back, If it moves forward, the answer is yes, and if it falls backward, the answer is no.

    3. Anywhere you see raffle prizes being announced, try and predict who will win. Maybe it will be you.

Intuition is like a muscle. You have it in you and use it a lot of times without even thinking about it. But if you start paying attention to it. you will see that it gets stronger and stronger.
